Since 1925.
Founded with a vision
Our founder Henry L. Persson was determined to manufacture strollers of the highest quality at a reasonable cost, a philosophy that has been passed on from generation to generation. With almost a century of uninterrupted development of our skills and craftmanship, Emmaljunga is the oldest active stroller factory with uninterrupted production in the world.
1930´s
Model #2
During the 1930s our prams were manufactured using very simple, traditional methods. Then, as now, there were no shortcuts to creating happy customers and the craftsmanship was of a genuinely high standard.
From wood to cement
Factory built by workers.
During the war years, the production of strollers was substantially reduced. Henry decided that this was the time to build a larger, and more modern factory. The Emmaljunga workers gathered together and built the factory as we know it today, section by section.
The factory has always been located in the village Emmaljunga, from where the company share its name.
At this day, the spirit of independence and being self-sufficient is at the core of Emmaljunga.
1960´s & 1970's
Record production.
During the 1960s and the 1970s high birth rates and social reforms helped Emmaljunga sales to reach new record levels. The factory was modernised and extended in several stages and the production volume reached 100,000 prams per year.
1980's & 1990's
Exporting
During the 1980s and the 1990s the company continued to expand through export and with the aid of the sound thinking and decision making which still guides our successful family company after 90 years.
As one of our core values, we take pride in creating products that are not only functional and stylish, but also environmentally friendly.
Our range exemplifies this commitment to sustainability and quality. With a modular design, it is easy to repair and replace, saving resources and reducing waste.
Our fabrics have to withstand cold winters, hot summers, and rainy autumns as well as children’s dirty boots and sticky fingers!
As a manufacturer of high quality products in Scandinavia since 1925, we have years of experience of coping with challenging conditions and have therefore developed our own fabrics (PROTEX+™) to withstand these conditions.
Our strollers are tested according to very strict requirements, including against the European standard EN1888. Tests are carried out continuously both in our own testing machines and at accredited testing institutes.
